All types of dragons lived there, the serpentine Lung, the feathered Quetzalcotl, and even the gigantic western dragons. They lived together, if not in harmony, at least in relative peace. The few humans who lived there were mostly ambassadors and dignitaries from the other worlds, humans were not native to Asteroidus, and the small number that were only allowed to dwell there as part of the mutual-defense treaty. Dragons are not big on tourism.
However, Chi Lung, chief advisor to the ruler of Asteroidus, Baphomet, foresaw the need for a defender, a Senshi. Dragons can not be Senshi, and although the average dragon can easily destroy a well-trained warrior in combat, they were no match for even a poorly trained Senshi. So Chi searched the other nine planets for an unwanted child that had the potential to become a Senshi. It was a long search, since Senshi are always of one of the various royal families and are carefully guarded, but he eventually came across a small girl-child who had recently lost her parents in an ice storm. And as the grieving child looked up from the frozen bodies of her parents, Chi saw, just for an instant, the symbol of Asteroidus on her forehead.
Thanking the Great Maker, he gathered up the child in his coils and smuggled her to Asteroidus. There he trained her as best he could from scattered accounts of the other senate's abilities gleamed from the other humans on Asteroidus.
And so it went for ten years until Tiamat, another of Baphomet's advisors, discovered the girl. She immediately informed Baphomet after promising to keep the girl's existence a secret. Enraged at the betrayal of his trusted friend and advisor, he cursed him to shrink in stature, and to slumber eternally. He then banished them both to the girl's home world, Earth.
Not long after, Tiamat swore allegiance to the Negaverse and acted as a mole to destroy the rest of her race. When the Negaverse attacked, Tiamat's machinations caused her world to be completely destroyed. With his dying breath Baphomet tried to remove his curse on Chi, but was too weak to cancel it completely. He could only modify it so that instead of sleeping forever, he would awaken by someone with an extremely strong spirit.
And so Chi slept for a thousand years, until the wandering hands of a small boy awakened him.

5 Akira Masada is a reasonably successful salaryman in the Jurai Corporation. He is also an accomplished martial artist, skilled in a wide variety of armed and unarmed styles (including Kendo, Kenjutsu, Bojutsu, Aikido, and Escrima). Despite repeated efforts and gentle encouragement, his eldest son is just not interested in the Arts de Martial. (This will almost certainly change once Usuba realizes exactly how inept at combat he is, even with Sailor Meteorite's Senshi abilities.) He speaks Mandarin and Okinawan, as well as the Hokuyo dialect of Japanese. He can muddle through English, French and German, but does not have the patience for prolonged conversations or readings.
He is a short, jovial man (5' 3") who believes in tradition and hospitality. Despite his small stature, he is quite hefty and solid (180 lb.). He has brown eyes and short, spiky black hair and is handsome, in a perpetually embarrassed kind of way.
6 Megane is just one of those people who radiate niceness. She is a homemaker who also writes and draws a syndicated political cartoon, Shiten, under the name, Shan. Despite apparently being on decaffeinated Prozac, she has a sharp wit and a keen mind she keeps well fed by keeping up on world events. She reads three Japanese newspapers, as well as the London and New York Times to get material for her cartoon.
She is a tall British woman (5' 8") with long loose light brown hair and green eyes who embodies the principal of 'iron fist in velvet glove'. While she would never contradict her husband, in public acting like the stereotypical Japanese wife, in private, she is the one who really runs the household. She speaks English and Japanese fluently.
7 Jade is 8 years old, and extremely hyperactive. He can not stay still for more than five minutes (as part of a bet, Usuba timed him. Jade lost that bet by three minutes) and is equally inept at keeping quiet. He is more interested in martial arts than his brother (by orders of magnitude) and won his first children's karate tournament last year. Despite being almost as smart as his older brother is, he has only skipped one grade, placing him in the 3rd grade. Due to his fighting ability, he is having an easier time with the bigger kids than Usuba.
Jade is big for his age at 4' 3" and 55 lb. He has brown hair with red highlights and green eyes. His primary interest besides martial arts is video games (especially the new street fighter game: Turbo Hyper Mega Super Street Fighter II: Deluxe Rainbow Black Belt Championship edition, the Newer Challengers demand a rematch, With guest appearance by Sushi-X).
8 Usuba's genius IQ allows him to know English, French, Mandarin, and Russian, as well as Japanese. If there is ever any anime based on his work, he could translate it for other countries himself.
9 Unfortunately he is attractive in an "Awww, you're so adorable" way instead of a "Take me now you stud" way, but you work with what you've got.
10 Being on the track team has helped his endurance. Still hates gym and most other physical activity.

14 Chi Lung, a small iron statue (about 5" long when uncoiled) of a dragon coiled around a small stylized scepter (heshin stick) that he bought in an antique shop because it looked cool. Chi is made of iron, but is also alive and sentient, even when pretending to be a common statue. He is usually worn as a bracelet (holding his tail in his mouth to complete the circle). Chi is very old and wise, but he has not been able to keep up with current events and his own child-hood is very far behind him, causing him to sometimes give faulty advice. However, he is a very experienced veteran of combat and politics, and can often give good strategic and tactical advice when asked (he usually will not volunteer unless Usuba is about to make a _major_ mistake, and even then, will probably be too late). He has limited telepathy (touch range) and often communicates while disguised as a bracelet. He can fly at slow speeds, but usually walks or is carried by Usuba to keep a low profile. Despite being a dragon, he can not breathe fire. Finally, he has detailed knowledge of Sailor Meteorite's Senshi powers and how to access them. His knowledge of the Negaverse's abilities, strategies, and goals is much smaller, but still a great aid in combat.
Chi speaks in a very slow, deep voice, has brown eyes and gray scales, a lion's head and four clawed legs. He is usually patient, but Usuba's know-it-all attitude tends to irritate him. He is about five inches long and an inch in diameter.
15 Favorite tricks include: Erasing disks (won't work on CDs or other optic media), pelting a foe with small metal items (no damage, but distracting, allowing a quick exit), and putting things in the bad-guys way, tripping him. He can also get better TV reception if he concentrates.
16 The Heshin Scepter that he bought with Chi is a transformation device, allowing Usuba to transform into Sailor Meteorite. When he transforms, the scepter enlarges to life-size (prior to this, it is approximately pen-sized) and can be used as a weapon (no extra combat abilities, he/she's just armed). The Heshin Scepter can not be harmed by those wielding evil intent (should someone wielding good intent break it, it can be put back together with a streamline subbed anime, an honest American president, and a decent OS from Macroshaft).
17 Magnetically gathers all the loose metal in the area and fires it at the foe.
18 As mentioned, he's on the track team. Also, since he's the smallest kid in his class (and the most lecherous), he often has to run from bullies and irate females (who are all bigger than him).
19 Holds up the scepter (which glows for a moment) and points it at his foe.
20 Attack restrictions include (in addition to the automatic no innocents rule) include his parents other family members, and whatever other authority figures that managed to earn his respect (but he's a twelve year-old genius, there's not that many people who qualify).

22 Girls. Especially tall, cute, slightly older girls in tight uniforms with short skirts. (Since this is an anime universe, there should be several girls who meet the above criteria in his class alone). Yes, fighting a girl (or even a cute youma/cardian/droid/whatever evil, diabolic thingies I'm fighting this season) would be a disaster.
23 Yep, the Heshin Scepter is the item required to access the Senshi abilities and energy bonus.
