Base of Operations: an eight foot by six foot room with over 2000 comics, TV, Genesis, SNES, PSX, games for the above, my bed and my dog. Its a little cramped but it's has a nice homey touch.

History: He was born. Nothing else really important happened to him after that.

Height: 5' 11"

Weight: 250 lb.

Hair:: Long, Hair-colored

Eyes: Hazel

Appearance: Chris has long (waist length) hair-colored (kinda brown, but kinda not) hair that he keeps loose or (when expecting trouble) in a tail. Very few people ever see him without his trenchcoat. He wears his trenchcoat whether it's a hundred degrees or minus a hundred degrees (farenhite). Underneath the trenchcoat, he usually wears blue jeans and a tee-shirt. He also wears prescription sunglasses.

Known Superhuman Powers: Chris radiates an unknown energy field that is invisible to all known means of detection. This field can only be noticed by supernatural means, and even then, only as a blind spot.

This field negates any and all supernatural abilities (including, but not limited to, Magic, Psychic abilities, Chi Manipulation, Mutant Abilities, and any [including technological and psychological] form of mind control or conditioning) that enter it. It is also completely impervious to supernatural creatures. Thus Dimitri could not hurt (or even touch) Chris while Ryu could walk up and punch Chris, but could not use his Hadoken or other chi powers against him.

The effectiveness of this field can not be overstated. Thor, Zeus, and Shiva could throw lightning bolts at this field all day and not even come close to breaching it.

This field does not normally extend much (if at all) past Chris' clothing and weapons and is always operating, even when asleep. However, Chris can 'flex' the field, expanding and shaping it. However, when 'flexed' supernatural creatures can be in the field, but still can't use any of their supernatural abilities. In addition, Chris can shut off the field, although it's natural state is to be on.

It is unknown to what extent Chris can flex his field, however, at one time he used it to completely cover the earth.

Limitations and Weaknesses: The field does absolutely nothing against technological weapons (knives, swords, guns, thrown rocks, etc). Unless they are supernatural in some way (Excalibur, or the Hulk is throwing the rock). In that case, the magic is negated and only the damage from the weapon gets through (the rock would slow down to the velocity of a normal man (although a large man, in this case) throwing it.

Flexing the field is very difficult, requires intense concentration, and can cause profuse sweating and nose bleeds. Shutting off the field is slightly easier, but still requires some concentration. Flexing the field to global proportions caused him to go into a coma for two months.

Chris Hoffmann is completely mortal in every way. He ages, and a bullet or knife in the right place will quickly kill him. In addition, he is nearsighted and without corrective lenses, having problems making out anything more than ten feet away from him. He is also asthmatic, and is often short of breath.

Chris Hoffmann has horrible spelling and grammar, leading him to believe that Fortran, and not english, is his native language.

Other Abilities: Chris has calluses on his feet and thumbs that are so thick that he can walk on hot coals or broken glass without pain or discomfort. He can also do a thumb stand (as opposed to a hand stand).

Chris also possesses considerable writing ability (in the code and prose sense of the word), and has written several programs and fanfics (most of which were lost during a hard drive crash). He also possesses considerable patience for doing the most nit-picky things to get the absolute best score in any video game (although this is most obvious in role playing games). He is also an excellent code debugger and can usually find code errors at a glance.

He is also very strong (but not super-humanly so) and possesses great manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination. In addition, he can withstand extremes of temperature with nothing more than his trenchcoat.

Weapons and Armor: Chris uses five different weapons.

  1. A Masamune Katana that is so sharp it can slice through nearly anything. Used mostly for ceremonies.
  2. A metal staff, approximately six feet long and one inch thick, made out of battleship grade steel (No one knows where he got the metallurgical process to make it).
  3. He also uses a dual bladed knife with the blades being eight inches long and running parallel to each other, about two inches apart. Once again, the knife is made out of battleship steel. Inside the hilt are two 250 pound springs (one for each blade). At the press of a button, a blade will fly out with enough force to embed it in a brick wall.
  4. Twin Sword: Two sword blades (about two and a half feet long) connected to the same one foot hilt. The blades join the hilt on opposite sides, so the entire sword is six feet long. Again, the swords and hilt are made of battleship steel. With a twisting motion, Chris can separate the sword in to two identical halves. Between the sword hilts is a stong piece of wire (about three feet long) that insures that the swords are not separated.
  5. Despite his nearsightedness, Chris is adept at several forms of archery and prefers to use a Daikyo (a Samurai Long Bow).
In addition, Chris wears a trenchcoat with a battle ship steel (gotta love that battleship steel) mesh lining. There is a hidden sheath on the inside, so that he can carry the katana Highlander style.

Transportation: Usually shoe-leather, however, Chris is currently looking for a good Harley Davidson.
